Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi
Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi keeps to seven floors and 57 rooms, opened in 2020 a few minutes from Tokyo Station, a scale small enough that the hotel's own site calls it a boutique property. From the door, Kyōbashi's gallery streets, the Imperial Palace grounds and Tsukiji's fish market are all within a kilometer, close enough to walk rather than book a car. Inside, the pace matches the room count: MAISON MARUNOUCHI serves French cooking under a bar and lounge, the spa runs massages, facials and body treatments alongside a sauna and steam room, and guests who want to swim have both an indoor and an outdoor pool, a pairing most Tokyo hotels skip. There's a chapel on site, unusual among Tokyo's luxury addresses, plus a business center with just over 1,000 square feet of meeting space for anyone folding work into the trip. Families are handled without fuss, with a playroom and babysitting on request, though the scale and quiet suit a couple or a solo traveler chasing proximity to the Palace more than a group filling several rooms at once. Rooms carry bathrobes, minibars and soundproofing, and a free pick-up from the train station replaces the usual airport-transfer sales pitch. It is a small hotel wearing a large name, and near Tokyo Station that combination is rare enough to notice. Seven floors, 57 rooms, opened 2020 a kilometer from the Imperial Palace: this Four Seasons calls itself boutique. French dining, twin pools and an onsite chapel set it apart from Tokyo's bigger luxury names, though it suits a couple or solo traveler more than a large group.

The lobby, redesigned by architect Andre Fu, unfolds as a triple-height space conceived as a modern Japanese tea lounge, framed by washi panelling. Muted rose and deep navy furnishings, warm woods and mid-century silhouettes surround sweeping window walls that reveal a contemplative rock garden, embodying the studio's philosophy of relaxed luxury bridging tradition and modernity.
