THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River
Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok at Chao Phraya River sits along 200 metres of open riverfront in the city's Creative District, its tiered buildings stepped back from the water and linked at ground level by courtyards, art-filled corridors and open-air terraces that catch the sound of water features rather than traffic. That run of frontage, with buildings stepped back from the bank instead of piled into one tower, is what makes the address read as an enclave rather than a hotel block. The 299 rooms start at 538 square feet, generous by Bangkok standards, and the Executive King Suite runs past 1,100, with bathrobes, minibars and private bathrooms standard throughout; several Premier rooms add balconies looking over the water. There are two pools, indoor and outdoor, a spa with steam room and sauna, a gym with a table tennis area, and a library and picnic area that read more like a private estate than a hotel amenity list. A kids club and playroom make this workable for families without turning it into a resort built around them; solo travellers and couples get the quieter courtyards and the concierge desk to handle the details. Staff speak English and Chinese. It sits about 5 kilometres from the old city center, near Wat Yan Nawa and Asiatique The Riverfront, so this suits someone happy to arrive by car rather than on foot, and less the visitor who wants to walk to everything from the room. Airport transfers can be arranged for a fee, and pets are not permitted. What lingers is the 200 metres of open river the hotel keeps to itself. Four Seasons Bangkok spreads across 200 metres of open riverfront, tiered buildings linked by courtyards rather than stacked into one tower. Rooms start at 538 square feet, with two pools and a spa on site. It suits couples and families arriving by car more than walkers.
