THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
1 Hotel Central Park
At the corner of 58th Street and Sixth Avenue, an ivy-clad facade marks 1 Hotel Central Park, one block from the park and a short walk from the subway and Fifth Avenue's shops. Inside, a farm stand sits in the lobby, a detail that separates this address from the marble-and-gilt hotels nearby, where other lobbies put a piano or a bar. That said, the bar is here too, alongside a cafe, a restaurant, and Jams, chef Jonathan Waxman's dining room. Water is filtered at every tap and served in bottles recycled from wine glass, part of a sustainability story that earned the property a 2025 MICHELIN Key and LEED certification. Guests bring dogs at no charge, book the spa, sauna, or gym, and children have a dedicated playroom with babysitting on request. The 229 rooms and suites range from a 205-square-foot Alcove Double, stocked with a mini bar, safe, and hypoallergenic bedding, to a 312-square-foot Alcove Junior Double Suite built for a family group. A conference hall and event spaces cover the business trip that turns into a long weekend. Parking runs 75 dollars a day, valet included, and the daily breakfast credit of 40 dollars per room covers most mornings, with the difference billed for anyone who orders beyond it. Anyone chasing marble lobbies or classic Fifth Avenue grandeur should look toward the Plaza a few blocks over. This is a hotel for travelers who want the park at the door and nature written into the architecture, not just the view. One block from Central Park, this ivy-clad hotel runs a farm stand in its lobby and filters its own water at every tap, habits that earned it a 2025 MICHELIN Key. Dogs stay free, and a 205-square-foot Alcove Double or a family-sized 312-square-foot suite covers the range of stays.

Every guest room at 1 Hotel Central Park is fitted with water filtration built into each faucet, letting guests refill rather than reach for plastic. Empty wine bottles are also repurposed into water bottles, part of the hotel's effort to remove single-use plastics from the stay.
