THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
Warren Street Hotel
Eleven floors in Tribeca, finished in 2023, and every hallway doubles as a gallery: more than 700 works of art, including pieces by Gary Bunt, Christian Mohadi, Christopher Kurtz and San Gaja, the Ugandan artist known as the Bead King of Africa. Warren Street Hotel is the newest of Kit Kemp's Firmdale properties in New York, and it shows in details rather than declarations: 69 rooms across a range of sizes, from a 334-square-foot Superior Room to a 667-square-foot Suite, each dressed in the same fearless colour and pattern that define the brand, with a private bathroom in every category and toiletries from Junior Suite up. Downstairs there's a restaurant, a bar, a spa with sauna and hammam, an indoor and an outdoor pool, a gym, and less predictably a mini-golf course, a casino, a karaoke room, a library and a bowling alley, the kind of mix that turns a rainy afternoon into an event rather than a wait. Business travellers get a conference hall and a business center; families or slower stays get a full kitchen option in some rooms and laundry service on request. What sets it apart from its Firmdale siblings is the accessibility work: communal areas are wheelchair-friendly throughout, and one room in every category has been adapted to ADA standards for guests with limited mobility or hearing impairments, a level of thought that's rare in hotels this stylish. It sits three kilometres from the city center, close to Chambers Street and the Tribeca Performing Arts Center, better suited to someone who wants a neighbourhood than a landmark view. Not the choice for anyone chasing anonymity or a skyline view; the personality here is loud on purpose. Warren Street Hotel is Firmdale's newest New York address, an eleven-floor Tribeca property finished in 2023 and filled with over 700 works of art. Considered comfort meets genuine accessibility, with ADA-adapted rooms in every category and a spa, pools and a mini-golf course downstairs.
