THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
Lido Palace
Lido Palace occupies a stretch of shoreline where limestone cliffs drop straight into Lake Garda, a Belle Époque building from 1899 that architect Alberto Cecchetto reworked into something more contemporary without erasing the original bones. It holds just 41 rooms across four floors, small enough that the property's biggest asset does not feel diluted: a 1500-square-metre spa, Cento11, with a Finnish sauna heated to 98 degrees, a bio sauna, a Mediterranean bath, a Turkish bath and a salt room built from rock-salt walls, alongside indoor and outdoor pools and a gym. Few hotels this size on the lake carry that much wellness infrastructure. Sailors and windsurfers use the lake's northern winds directly from the property, and there is tennis, mini golf, fishing and bike rental if the spa alone does not fill the days. Il Re della Busa, the in-house restaurant, looks over the garden rather than the water, and the bar and terrace do double duty for anyone who prefers to end the day slowly. Two meeting rooms, one for up to 50 people and a smaller oval-table room for 12, mean it also absorbs a modest corporate booking without feeling like a conference hotel. It is not for families chasing kids' clubs, and the city centre sits a kilometre off if you want nightlife; the quiet is the point, not an oversight. As one of the Leading Hotels of the World on a lake crowded with postcard views, Lido Palace is the one that makes stillness the actual amenity. Lido Palace pairs a lakeside building from 1899 with a 1500-square-metre spa and just 41 rooms, more wellness centre than hotel. Good for a reset trip built around sauna, pool and lake wind; less so if you want nightlife or a kids' club a kilometre from the door.

Il Re della Busa is the hotel's beachfront restaurant, set with views over the garden and positioned close to the lakeshore. It serves as the property's main dining venue, with room service also available during limited hours for guests who prefer to eat in rather than head down to the restaurant itself.
Stay connected with the complimentary wireless internet access and relax in the serene garden.
For the active travelers, a bike rental service is available to explore the surrounding area.
The hotel amenities include an indoor and outdoor pool, ensuring comfortable swimming throughout the year.
Indulge in a variety of wellness options including a spa, sauna, and massage treatments.
Enjoy daily continental breakfast buffet and lunch at the onsite restaurant and bar.
