THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
Via Regia Hotel Cappadocia
Uçhisar Castle rises just outside the window at Via Regia Hotel Cappadocia, and on clear mornings hot air balloons lift over the valley in a scene the hotel says is visible from every room and corner of the property. This is an eleven-room hotel spread across three floors with no elevator, carved partly into stone, its arched suites carrying that further than most Cappadocia cave hotels bother to: marble bathtubs, fireplaces, and private Turkish baths built into rooms like the Stone Arched Luxury Suite and the Honeymoon Suite, alongside Bang & Olufsen sound systems and Nespresso machines. Downstairs, LUUK Restaurant serves Anatolian and international dishes from a space built across rock cave, garden, and terrace, and the hotel also has a bar. It sits in Uçhisar's center, close enough to the castle that walking there after dinner is part of the stay rather than an excursion, and the front desk arranges transfers and tours for guests who'd rather not manage logistics themselves. Wi-Fi is free throughout, but there's no elevator, so anyone unsteady on stairs or travelling with heavy luggage should ask about a lower floor before booking. Pets aren't allowed, and an extra bed runs 150 euros a night if needed. What separates it from the valley's other stone hotels is the specificity of its suites: eleven rooms, each designed differently rather than repeated across floors, so the room itself becomes part of what's being paid for, not just the view outside it. Via Regia sits beside Uçhisar Castle, its eleven rooms carved into stone and each one designed differently, several with marble bathtubs and Turkish baths. There's no elevator across three floors, so stairs are part of the stay. LUUK Restaurant serves Anatolian dishes from a rock cave dining room.
