THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
Cappadocia Cave Suites
Cappadocia Cave Suites is built directly onto the bedrock of a former monastery, its rooms and suites carved into the same volcanic, chimney-shaped rock that Hittite, Roman and Byzantine occupants once hollowed into homes, a layering of history few Cappadocia cave hotels can claim outright. The property sits roughly 300 metres from the centre of Goreme, close enough to walk to the town's bars and restaurants, in one of the region's more atmospheric pockets. Rooms range from Standard Rooms to Signature Suites, some with private terraces and one, Room 202, with its own hot tub; family rooms sleep larger groups across three beds. Mornings mean coffee on the rooftop terrace watching hot air balloons drift over the fairy chimneys, and evenings shift to Nana Cappadocia, the rooftop restaurant and bar, for Anatolian dishes and Cappadocian wine against the same valley view. The concierge arranges balloon flights, jeep safaris, horseback rides and ATV tours, and staff work across languages beyond Turkish, useful for guests piecing together a first trip to the region. There is free on-site parking, a garden, a small library, laundry and beauty services, and the whole property is smoke-free. This suits travellers drawn to a destination shaped as much by its past as its view, who don't mind a hotel built into rock rather than around a pool. It is a poorer fit for anyone chasing large modern rooms or a beach-adjacent resort feel. What stays with you afterward isn't the balloon photo everyone takes but the knowledge that the walls around you sheltered other lives long before Goreme had a name. Built into the bedrock of a former monastery, this Goreme cave hotel layers Hittite, Roman and Byzantine history beneath modern suites, some with private terraces or a hot tub. Mornings bring balloon views from the rooftop terrace; evenings move to the rooftop restaurant for Anatolian food and Cappadocian wine.

Built into the original bedrock of a former monastery, the hotel's rooms occupy cave dwellings dating to the Hittite, Roman and Byzantine periods, carved from volcanic, chimney-shaped rock. This layered history gives the property its distinctive stone architecture and atmosphere, blending centuries-old surfaces with contemporary comforts throughout the suites.
