The hotel sits in the city center, close enough to walk to Naumburg Cathedral, the Domschatzgewölbe treasury and the Asisi Panometer, and just off Steinweg, the pedestrian lane that has linked the cathedral to the market square for centuries. It also marks the gateway to Saale-Unstrut, Germany's northernmost wine region, and the on-site restaurant and wine bar are built around that fact. Seventeen rooms sit across three floors, some facing the courtyard garden, others the old pedestrian street, each with a private bathroom, and the building has a lift and wheelchair-accessible routes throughout. Staff speak several languages, help book excursions and tickets, and store luggage or valuables in a safe-deposit box. There's a library for a slow afternoon, hiking routes starting near the door, and a terrace and garden for sitting outside without leaving the property. It suits people building a trip around the cathedral, the wine route, or a work meeting that benefits from a concierge who actually knows the town, and less so anyone expecting to park right outside (spaces are reserved off-site) or travelling with a dog. What no newly built hotel nearby can offer is the building itself, a working inn on the same plot since the eighteenth century, still doing what it always did.
