THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
The Ritz-Carlton, Wolfsburg
Step out of the circular lobby at The Ritz-Carlton, Wolfsburg and you are already standing inside Volkswagen's Autostadt theme park, since the hotel was built as part of the complex rather than beside it. That placement separates it from most hotels carrying the Ritz-Carlton name: guests here are effectively on-site for the Autostadt exhibits, with the Phaeno Science Center a few minutes further and the medieval Wolfsburg Castle, dating to 1300, within easy reach. The 170 rooms are spread across four floors, in a building that opened in 2000, and range from Standard King rooms to a two-bedroom Presidential Suite and a Club King room on the hotel's club level. Expect down comforters, minibars and rainfall showerheads over the bathtub, along with a bridal suite and family rooms for those staying longer. The business side is just as built out, with seven meeting rooms and over 4,000 square feet of event space alongside an indoor pool, a heated outdoor pool, sauna, steam room and the Kraftwerk spa for anyone worn out from a day exploring Autostadt. Dinner runs from the Terra restaurant to a cafe and two bars, and staff answer in seven languages, including English, French, Spanish and Russian. Pets are welcome for a deposit, and wheelchair access reaches both the restaurant and upper floors. What it will not offer is an old-town balcony or a slow seaside afternoon; Wolfsburg is a company town built around a car plant, and the hotel carries that briskness even into its comforts. For anyone whose trip runs through Autostadt, a supplier meeting or the Phaeno, sleeping inside the campus rather than commuting to it is the actual advantage. A hotel built into Volkswagen's Autostadt park rather than near it, with 170 rooms, a spa, two pools and seven meeting rooms. It suits business travelers and Autostadt visitors more than anyone craving a quiet old town. Pets stay for a deposit.

The hotel building is shaped as a striking open circle, a design chosen to symbolize warmth and welcome inside Volkswagen's Autostadt theme park. Surrounded by contemporary architecture and modern art, it sits where industrial heritage meets present-day design, offering a distinctive silhouette among Wolfsburg's landmarks near the historic town center.
Pets are welcome at the hotel.
Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.
A business center, conference hall and event facilities support meetings.
Bar, restaurant and cafe options are available for dining.
