THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
The Uza Terrace Beach Club Villas
Uza Beach runs right up to the villas here, close enough that the barbecue grills on the terrace catch the last of the sunset before anyone needs a lantern. Forty-eight standalone villas, no shared corridors, no floors to climb; Yomitan is a five-kilometre drive from the nearest town, so this is not a base for someone chasing Naha's bars and shopping streets. What it has instead is rarer: it's one of the small number of Relais & Châteaux members in Okinawa, and the kitchen draws on the property's own farm, so a plate might carry purple sweet potato grown a short walk away, alongside French-leaning dishes built around local terroir. Evenings tend toward the poolside barbecue or the fine-dining room; some nights there's a private cruise out past where the shoreline lights fade into open water. A sauna, spa and gym sit alongside an outdoor pool and a separate pool for children, and babysitting can be arranged if the trip includes them, with family rooms built for exactly that. Wi-Fi is free throughout, staff work in English and Japanese, and pets aren't part of the arrangement. Parking costs 2,000 JPY a day rather than coming free with the villa, and check-in runs from 3pm to an 11am check-out, worth knowing if flight times are tight. This suits a couple or family happy to eat and swim without leaving the grounds, less so anyone wanting nightlife on the doorstep. It's a farm-to-table villa resort on Okinawa's west coast, built for people who came to be still, not entertained. Villas on Uza Beach with their own farm supplying the kitchen, a Relais & Châteaux address, and a private night cruise on offer. Better suited to slow evenings than city nights, five kilometres from the nearest town.

The hotel runs a dedicated Esthetic Room offering treatments such as its original Uza signature ritual and THALGO marine-algae therapy, whose name derives from the Greek word for sea and the French word for algae. Sessions take place in a private spa space set aside for one guest at a time.
