Casa Hoyos began life as a grain and seed store on Mesones Street, a business San Miguel de Allende locals nicknamed 'the Bean Bank' long before Andrés Gutiérrez of A-G Studio and a roster of Mexican artisans turned it into a sixteen-room boutique hotel spread over two floors, its colonial architecture set against contemporary Mexican design, close enough to El Jardín and the Parish Church of San Miguel Arcángel to reach on foot. This is an adults-only hotel, so it suits couples and friends travelling without kids more than families, and pets stay elsewhere too. Rooms carry Tempur-Pedic beds, down comforters, espresso makers and 42-inch smart televisions, with designer toiletries dispensed from refillable bottles rather than single-use minis, part of a housekeeping model that also offers a discount for guests who skip daily service. What no other hotel in town can claim is TONANA, the rooftop bar built with Oscar Valle of Mexico City's Licorería Limantour, a bar ranked ninth in North America and fifty-second in the world by The World's 50 Best Bars in 2025, pouring cocktails infused with medicinal plants under a concept built around the mother goddess. Downstairs, COMITÉ runs an open wood-fire kitchen, and a concierge team arranges everything from vineyard visits to horseback rides through the extinct volcanoes outside town. An onsite spa handles massages by reservation, and airport transfers run for a fee.
