THE PINK NOTEBOOK VERDICT
Rayavadee Resort
At the tip of Krabi's Phranang Peninsula, on the border of Krabi Marine National Park and facing Phang Nga Bay, Rayavadee's last stretch is only reachable by boat: a twenty-minute crossing from Nong Nuch pier after the drive from Krabi airport. Its 94 two-storey pavilions and 7 villas spread across 26 acres of coconut grove, built around the property's own trees, none of which were felled during construction. Couples chasing the top tier will find it in the Rayavadee Villa, one of the seven, with its own free-form pool and jacuzzi, a private sauna and a dedicated butler. Families get a kids club, a children's pool, highchairs and pavilions with two bedrooms built in. It suits a traveller who wants Krabi without the noise, and who doesn't mind that reaching anywhere off the peninsula starts with a boat; it is not for anyone wanting a beach bar within walking distance of a town. Right now the main pool and the Raitalay Terrace Restaurant are closed for improvements until 20 October 2026, and the tennis court until 31 October, though a newly finished pool on the Nam Mao Lawn opened in late August and every other restaurant runs its usual hours. What Rayavadee has that its neighbours on this coast do not is its own water system: since the peninsula was never linked to the provincial supply, the resort built a zero-discharge treatment plant that draws from subterranean sources and returns nothing to the sea, clean enough to keep fish alive in its ponds. It treats isolation as the whole offer, not an apology for one. Rayavadee occupies the tip of Krabi's Phranang Peninsula, reachable only by boat, its 94 pavilions and 7 villas set among 26 acres of coconut grove that kept every tree standing. Its own zero-discharge water system is rare on this coast. The main pool is closed for renovation until October 2026.
