The Pavilions Phuket sits on one of the highest points of the island in Bang Tao, where the hills slope toward Layan Beach and the 360° bar seems to hover over the water below. Built in 2006 across 68,800 square metres and three four-story buildings, the resort holds just 95 keys, split between 51 villas and 44 suites. Every villa has its own panoramic pool and private terrace, and some add a separate spa room, so guests rarely need to leave their own address for the parts of the trip that matter most. Meals move between three kitchens: Firefly by the pool for grilled Mediterranean and Thai plates, the ocean-facing Plantation Club for traditional Thai cooking, and that panoramic bar for cocktails, with breakfast or dinner sent to the villa on request. The spa mixes its own treatments on site, including a honey and sesame seed scrub, and a free shuttle runs to the resort's Dream Beach Club for anyone who wants sand instead of a private pool. This is an adult-oriented resort: under-12s are limited to specific villa and suite categories, the 360° bar is 16 and over, though Firefly and Alto Italian welcome children at dinner. Couples chasing quiet, elevated views will find the private pools do most of the work; families booking a two- or three-bedroom pool villa can make it work too, but anyone wanting a hotel built around kids should look elsewhere. Free Wi-Fi, a fitness room, sauna and a golf course three kilometres out cover the practicalities. Wellness Center with Yoga and Custom Spa Rituals

The resort's spa center includes its own pool, a yoga area and dedicated treatment rooms. Therapists use custom-made cosmetics crafted from natural ingredients, including a scrub based on honey and sesame seeds, alongside massages and moisturising treatments in a hillside setting overlooking the island.

Firefly, the Poolside Grill and Signature Cocktail Restaurant

Firefly is the resort's main restaurant, where guests can order grilled dishes alongside Mediterranean and Thai cuisine, signature cocktails and snacks served poolside. It is one of three onsite dining venues, each built around organic ingredients, giving guests an easy, relaxed option without leaving the property.
